HIGHLIGHTS: Reynaldo Rodriguez tied a Sea Dogs record with his eighth home run in the month of May. Josh Roskos and Kevin Millar in 1997, John Hattig in 2004 and Ryan Lavarnway in 2011 are the four prior Portland players to accomplish this feat. Rodriguez has eleven games left in the month to make the record his own … The BMets stole two more bases on the day, giving them 7 in the series, all on catcher Matt Spring. On the year the Portland backstop has allowed 29 stolen bases and only thrown out 3 runners … Right fielder Bryce Brentz went 4 for 5 with a double and two runs. He is batting .452 over his last ten games … Despite having a league-high 4.65 team ERA, they have fired 314 strikeouts, good enough for third most in the Eastern League.

HIGHLIGHTS: In his first start since 2010, Brad Thompson allowed 4 earned runs and 7 hits in 2 1/3 innings … Center fielder Aaron Hicks went 1 for 4 and stole his second base in as many games … Deibinson Romero came into the game with only 1 hit in his last five games, but managed a 2 for 3 day at the plate, with two walks … The Rock Cats have a team batting average of .238, worst in the Eastern League.

All four Fisher Cats pitchers allowed 2 earned runs … Catcher Sean Ochinko went 1 for 3 and blasted his first AA home run … Brian Van Kirk went 1 for 4 to extend his hit streak to eight games … John Tolisano and Ryan Goins both went 2 for 4. Goins is batting .368 over his last ten games and Tolisano .351. Both are in the top-10 in the Eastern League for batting.

For the second time this season the PawSox are in the midst of a four-game losing streak … Reliever Mark Melancon allowed a run on 2 walks and a hit in the eighth inning. It is the first run he has allowed 14 innings of work with Pawtucket … Jose Iglesias went 1 for 4 to extend his hitting streak to six games … Scott Podsednik went 1 for 4 with his first home run of the year. In 22 games with Lehigh Valley, he had 15 hits, 0 home runs and 4 RBIs. In 8 games with Pawtucket he has 9 hits, 1 home run and 6 RBIs.

HIGHLIGHTS: Sea Dogs’ starter Stolmy Pimentel threw 6 scoreless innings, scattering 4 hits and 2 walks to go along with 6 strikeouts … Portland center fielder Ronald Bermudez was the only player in the game without a hit … Reynaldo Rodriguez was 1 for 4 with a 2-run homer, his seventh in the month of May. The franchise mark for home runs in May was set by Ryan Lavarnway last season when he hit eight … Jeremy Hazelbaker stole his team-high 7th base of the season. He is tied for seventh in the E.L. … Both teams struck out ten times. Binghamton leads the Eastern League having struck out as a team 322 times. Portland is a close second with 317 whiffs.

HIGHLIGHTS: New Hampshire starter Randy Boone, who is working his way back after Tommy John surgery, left the game in the first inning after experiencing some discomfort. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in a 1/3 of an inning … John Tolisano went 2 for 3 and connected for his first home run of the season and first since August of last year … Catcher Sean Ochinko picked up his first AA hit, a line-drive single up the middle in the ninth inning … Brian Van Kirk went 1 for 4 to extend his hit streak to seven games … The Fisher Cats move to 6-11 in May with the loss.

After allowing only 1 walk in his first five starts, he has allowed 1 in each of his last three … Luis Perdomo worked a perfect ninth inning for his first save of the season … Chris Herrmann went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI … Aaron Hicks went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and his 10th stolen base. He is tied for fourth in the Eastern League in steals.

HIGHLIGHTS: Starter Justin Germano had his shortest outing of the season, going only 3 innings after allowing 6 runs on 7 hits and two walks. His ERA jumped from 1.99 to 2.98 … Scott Podsednik went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs, a run and his 2nd stolen base with the PawSox. He has hit safely in six of the seven games since joining Pawtucket … The rehabbing Kevin Youkilis played his second straight game at third base, but was not tested in the field. He went 1 for 4 at the plate with 2 strikeouts … Jose Iglesias went 1 for 4 and is now batting .282 on the season when he was at just .200 heading into the month. He has hit safely in five straight games and has 10 hits in that span … It is the third time this season that the PawSox have dropped 3 or more games in a row.

HIGHLIGHTS: New Hampshire starter Deck McGuire pitched a strong six innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks. He earned his first win since April 18th … Brad Thompson worked a scoreless inning of relief with 2 strikeouts for the Rock Cats. It was his first appearance of the year after some extended spring training following Tommy John surgery in 2011 … New Britain center fielder Joe Benson finally lashed out a bit at the plate, going 2 for 3 with an RBI and a walk. He came into the game having gone 2 for 24 in his previous six games with the Rock Cats … Ryan Goins went 1 for 2 with a double, RBI and walk. He extended his hitting streak to seven games and his .336 batting average is fifth best in the Eastern League … New Hampshire’s John Tolisano went 1 for 5 with an RBI and Brian Van Kirk went 2 for 4. Both players extended their hit streaks to five games.

HIGHLIGHTS: In his third rehab start with the PawSox, Daisuke Matsuzaka allowed 7 hits (2 home runs) and 4 earned runs over 6 2/3 innings. He threw 95 pitches – the most thus far in five rehab starts overall – and did not allow a walk … Pedro Ciriaco, Jose Iglesias and Scott Podsednik each had a single and Ryan Lavarnway had a double for the only PawSox hits on the night. Iglesias stole his sixth base of the season on seven attempts and Podsednik swiped his first with Pawtucket and seventh of the season … It was only the second time this season that the PawSox have been shutout. The first coming back on April 9th, a 1-0 loss to Lehigh Valley … Kevin Youkilis, who is on a rehab assignments with Pawtucket, had a scheduled off day. He is expected to get some time at third base this weekend.

He lowered his ERA to 1.99, fourth best in the International League … Junichi Tazawa pitched a perfect two innings of relief, striking out 3 batters … Scott Podsednik went 2 for 3 with a triple and a run scored in his second game with the PawSox … Alex Hassan went 0 for 3 with 3 strikeouts and a walk. It was the first time in more than four games that he struck out … In the thirteen games since Will Middlebrooks was called up to Boston, replacements at the third base position have a combined .256 batting average with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 8 runs.

HIGHLIGHTS: Sea Dogs’ starter Chris Martin pitched five innings, allowed 5 hits, 0 walks, struck out 6 and did not allow an earned run … After a 5 for 5 day at the plate on Sunday, Bryce Brentz proceeded to collect hits in his first three at-bats on Monday before striking out in the ninth inning to halt his consecutive hit streak at 8 at-bats … Left fielder Oscar Tejada went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored. He extended his hit streak to eight games … Kolbin Vitek went 1 for 4 with his first triple of the season. Of his 33 hits this year, 8 have been for extra bases.
