He went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits and a walk … Sea Dogs DH Bryce Brentz went 2 for 4 and hit his second home run in as many days. It was his fourth multi-hit game in his last seven … Portland’s Juan Carlos Linares went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs and 2 runs. He is now batting .341, fourth best in the Eastern League … New Hampshire’s Mike McDade went 3 for 4, raising his batting average to .318, good enough for ninth in the E.L.

HIGHLIGHTS: Starter Justin Germano threw 6 innings and allowed 6 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs en route to his fourth win of the season … Mark Melancon gave up two hits and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning. He has yet to allow a run or a walk in nine appearances (9 2/3 innings) and has struck out 17 batters … Daniel Nava went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs, raising his batting average to .316, 12th best in the International League. As recently as April 27th his average was .228 … Jose Iglesias went 2 for 5 with a run scored and 2 strikeouts. It is the sixth two-hit game in his last seven … Mauro Gomez snapped an 0 for 13 streak with a 2-RBI single in the bottom of the first.

HIGHLIGHTS: Luis Perdomo pitched a scoreless seventh inning to pick up his third win in his last four appearances. He hasn’t allowed a run in his last 10 1/3 innings .. Reliever Caleb Thielbar struck out 3 and allowed only 1 hit over the final two innings. Since being called up from Ft. Myers he has made 4 appearances and has not allowed a run in 6 2/3 innings … Wilkin Ramirez went 3 for 5 with a double and his first home run as a Rock Cat. Of 8 games with New Britain, four have been multi-hit … Joe Benson went 1 for 5 and is 1 for 9 in the two games played with New Britain since being demoted from AAA Rochester.

HIGHLIGHTS: Chris Balcom-Miller threw seven innings, his longest outing of the season, and allowed 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks … Portland reliever Josh Fields closed things out with two scoreless innings of work, striking out 4 batters … New Hampshire starter Randy Boone allowed 8 earned runs, 9 hits and 3 home runs over 4 2/3 innings. It was his first AA start since coming back from Tommy John surgery … Reynaldo Rodriguez is the first Sea Dog to hit two homers in a game since Jeremy Hazelbaker did it  last August 25th … John Tolisano and Brian Van Kirk each had a single, the only two hits that the Fisher Cats had all night.

HIGHLIGHTS: Daisuke Matsuzaka threw 87 pitches in his third rehab start. He tossed 4 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits and 3 walks with 4 strikeouts … Relievers Alex Wilson (2 1/3 innings, 3 Ks), Will Inman (1 inning, 1 K) and Mark Melancon (1 inning, 3 Ks) preserved the shutout … Daniel Nava went 2 for 4 with a home run, 2 RBIs and 2 runs. Over his last ten games he is batting .410 with 6 doubles, a triple, a home run, 9 RBIs and 9 runs … Ryan Lavarnway was 3 for 3 with a run scored … The PawSox won their 20th game on May 18th last season.

HIGHLIGHTS: Juan Carlos Linares went 1 for 4 and has a hit in 18 of 21 games this season. His .356 batting average is third best in the Eastern League … Brock Huntzinger – who struggled through four starts this season – made his second relief appearance, tossing two scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts … Every Sea Dogs’ batter got at least one hit on the night with Kolbrin Vitek, Reynaldo Rodriguez and Oscar Tejada picking up two apiece … Tejada stole his second base of the year and Jeremy Hazelbaker was caught stealing for the third time this season. As a team Portland is 15 for 23 on stolen base attempts for a 65% success rate.

In 11 appearances he has yet to yield a run over 11 innings of work … John Tolisano was 1 for 3 with a walk. Over his last nine games he is batting .344 with 11 walks, 7 runs and only 4 strikeouts.
