HIGHLIGHTS: Pawtucket scraped out six hits on the night and put late pressure on the Iron Pigs, but ultimately couldn’t plate a runner. Their best scoring chance coming in the bottom of the eighth, with Che-Hsuan Lin unable to score from third … Pawtucket starter Doug Mathis allowed only 1 run and 3 hits in five innings. He also had some control issues, walking 3 and hitting 2 … Junichi Tazawa became the first Pawtucket pitcher to get into two games this season. He tossed two scoreless innings, bringing him to four scoreless innings worked thus far … Alex Hassan went 0 for 2 and is now 0 for 11 in four starts. However, he again showed patience at the plate, drawing two walks, giving him 4 free passes in his last two games … Jose Iglesias is now 1 for 14 on the season and has stranded 9 runners on base. The PawSox shortstop’s average is down to .071 in four games played.

HIGHLIGHTS: New Hampshire’s 1 through 3 hitters in the lineup are a combined 9 for 47 on the season … Fisher Cats’ catcher A.J. Jimenez went 0 for 4 for the second straight game, and grounded out to the pitcher with the bases loaded to end the game … Jonathan Diaz picked up another 2 stolen bases for the Cats, tying him for the Eastern League lead with 5 … New Hampshire is one of only three teams in the E.L. without a home run this season … Mike McDade (2 for 4) and Justin Jackson (3 for 4) picked up their second multi-hit games of the year for the Fisher Cats.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Rock Cats used a 4-run fourth inning, sparked by Aaron Hicks first AA homerun, to improve to 4-1 … Deolis Guerra picked up the win in relief. It was his second appearance of the season and he tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits … New Britain’s Darin Mastroianni swiped two bases on the night, making him 3 for 3 on stolen base attempts this year … Shortstop Pedro Florimon has now hit safely in all five games this season. He was 1 for 4 on the night with a fifth inning, RBI single.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Sea Dogs dropped to 0-5 on the year, the worst start in franchise history … In his first AA start since 2007, PawSox hurler Billy Buckner allowed 5 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks, included a 4-run, 6-hit first inning … 2010 first round pick Kolbrin Vitek filled the DH role for Portland and was the only Sea Dogs batter who failed to get a hit … The Portland pitching staff has an 8.60 ERA through five games. The second highest team ERA in the Eastern League  is Bowie’s 5.75.
