HIGHLIGHTS: Reliever Junichi Tazawa worked two innings for his third win of the season. He struck out 4 and allowed 1 run on 2 hits … Marc Melancon allowed only his second run in 18 appearances … Jose Iglesias missed his fourth straight game as he deals with back stiffness … Lars Anderson went 2 for 4 with a home run, 2 runs and a season-high 5 RBIs. He has hit half of his home runs this year in his last three games. … The win put the PawSox at 17-11 for the month of May, one win more than their 16-9 April … Ryan Lavanway went 3 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs. It was his third 3-hit game of the season.

HIGHLIGHTS: Junichi Tazawa notched his first win of the season after tossing two-scoreless innings in relief … Mark Melancon pitched a perfect eighth for his sixth save, then the rains stepped in and cut the game short by an inning … Jose Iglesias went 0 for 3 but managed to drive in two runs; one on a sac fly in the third and another on a fielder’s choice in the seventh … Mauro Gomez went 1 for 3 to extend his hit streak to five games … The win gave the PawSox a split of their eight game road trip. They return to McCoy Stadium on Thursday to open up a four game series against the Toledo Mud Hens.

HIGHLIGHTS: Starter Logan Darnell had his longest outing of the season, tossing 7 scoreless innings, allowing 7 hits and striking out 4. His fifth win pulls him into a tie for second most in the Eastern League … Chris Herrmann went 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs and his 14th double of the season … James Beresford went 2 for 4 for the second straight night and extended his hitting streak to five games … Estarlin de los Santos went 2 for 4 and has hit safely in six straight, half of which have been multi-hit games … Matt Rizzotti was 0 for 4 and is 0 for 11 with 4 strikeouts over his last three games.

HIGHLIGHTS: Starter Billy Buckner had his best outing of the season, tossing 6 scoreless innings while allowing 3 hits and 3 runs to go with 3 strikeouts … Left fielder Jeremy Hazelbaker went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs … Derrik Gibson went 0 for 3 and was the only Sea Dogs player without a hit. His hit streak was halted at nine games, but his on-base streak extended to ten games with a walk … With the win the Sea Dogs move to 3-6 on the season against the BMets.

HIGHLIGHTS: Starter Yohan Pino lasted 5 innings, but allowed 6 earned runs on 7 hits and 4 walks … Brian Van Kirk went 1 for 4 with a solo home run and has run his hit streak to six games … Catcher Sean Ochinko played in his first AA game since being called up from Class-A Dunedin and was 0 for 3 at the plate. Ochinko was promoted to replace A.J. Jimenez who looks to be headed for Tommy John surgery after tearing the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing arm. Jimenez, considered to be a top defensive talent behind the dish, was ranked as the Blue Jays No. 12 prospect by Baseball America coming into the season … Trenton evened up the season series at 6 wins apiece.

HIGHLIGHTS: Starter B.J. Hermsen went 7 2/3 innings, his longest outing to-date, and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits with 3 strikeouts … Batting in the leadoff spot Joe Benson homered on the first pitch of the game. He had 2 homers in 28 games with Rochester …Matt Rizzotti went 3 for 4 with a home run … Third baseman Nathan Hanson was the only New Britain player without a hit … With the win the Rock Cats improve to 3-2 against Reading this season and take a ½ game lead over the RPhils for first place in the Eastern League’s Eastern Division.

HIGHLIGHTS: Reliever Junichi Tazawa was saddled for his first loss of the season despite not allowing one earned run. Two unlikely errors from Jose Iglesias in the bottom of the eighth inning opened the door for the Bulls to put up 4 runs and come back from a 5-2 deficit … Iglesias went 4 for 6 on the day, his first four-hit game of the season … Che-Hsuan Lin stole 2 bases, giving him 5 on 6 attempts this year … The PawSox still maintain a one-game lead over the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs who have won five straight games.

HIGHLIGHTS: Pawtucket starter Justin Germano picked up his first loss since April 13th despite not allowing 1 earned run. He lowered his ERA to 1.99, fourth best in the International League … Junichi Tazawa pitched a perfect two innings of relief, striking out 3 batters … Scott Podsednik went 2 for 3 with a triple and a run scored in his second game with the PawSox … Alex Hassan went 0 for 3 with 3 strikeouts and a walk. It was the first time in more than four games that he struck out … In the thirteen games since Will Middlebrooks was called up to Boston, replacements at the third base position have a combined .256 batting average with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 8 runs.

HIGHLIGHTS: Sea Dogs’ starter Chris Martin pitched five innings, allowed 5 hits, 0 walks, struck out 6 and did not allow an earned run … After a 5 for 5 day at the plate on Sunday, Bryce Brentz proceeded to collect hits in his first three at-bats on Monday before striking out in the ninth inning to halt his consecutive hit streak at 8 at-bats … Left fielder Oscar Tejada went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored. He extended his hit streak to eight games … Kolbin Vitek went 1 for 4 with his first triple of the season. Of his 33 hits this year, 8 have been for extra bases.

HIGHLIGHTS: Portland starter Billy Buckner went 6 innings, allowing 1 run and 5 hits to earn his first win with the Sea Dogs … Juan Carlos Linares was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. He has hits in 20 of 25 games this season … New Britain center fielder Aaron Hicks went 3 for 4 with an RBI and 2 stolen bases. He now has 7 stolen bases on the season, tied for the team lead with Pedro Florimon who stole his seventh in the game … The Sea Dogs have won two of the three series they’ve played versus New Britain this year, capturing five of their nine total wins against the Rock Cats.

HIGHLIGHTS: Starter Yohan Pino pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and a walk … Reliever Danny Farquhar served up a solo home run to Kevin Mahoney in the bottom of the ninth, tying the game and sending it to extras. It was Farquhar’s first blown save of the season and the third by the Fisher Cats in the last four games … Mike McDade went 1 for 4 and now has an eight game hitting streak … Ryan Goins reached base in all six of his at-bats, going 3 for 3 with 3 walks. It was his third straight three-hit game and he has now hit safely in six straight … Mark Sobolewski went 2 for 5 with a home run, RBI, run and a walk. It was the second straight game that he connected on a round-tripper and sixth straight game with at least one hit.

HIGHLIGHTS: Doug Mathis went five innings for his first win of the season … Scranton starter Andy Pettitte’s presence set a regular season record with 13,584 in attendance, and that’s without the hometown team even being involved. Pettitte got roughed up in 5 innings of work and you can read Thomas Saucke’s first-hand account of the his efforts in the post below this one … Reliever Junichi Tazawa allowed 2 runs in two innings of work. It was the first two runs he has allowed for the PawSox this season … Pedro Ciriaco went 3 for 4 with a double, RBI and 2 runs. It is the fourth multi-hit game during his current six game hit streak … Lars Anderson picked up his first three-hit game of the season, driving in two runs and notching two doubles for the second straight game … Jose Iglesias went 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored. It was his fifth straight two-hit game and he has raised his batting average to .253 after ending April at .200.

HIGHLIGHTS: Ronald Uviedo inherited a one-run lead heading into the ninth inning, but allowed 3 runs for his second blown save of the season and first loss … Aaron Loup worked another scoreless inning, striking out 1 and walking 1. He has yet to yield a run in 13 appearances … Mike McDade was 2 for 5 with a home run, 3 RBIs and a run. He has hit safely in six straight games … Brian Van Kirk was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 RBIs and a run. It was the third multi-hit game in his last seven … After going 1-4 in 19 relief appearances with the Fisher Cats last season, Frank Gailey notched his first win of the season against them in his second appearance since joining the RPhils.

He has reached base in all but one game played this year … Reliever Aaron Kurcz pitched 1 2/3 innings with all five outs coming via the strikeout … Kolbrin Vitek went 2 for 4, his third straight game with two hits.

There are three players tied in second with 8 stolen bases … Harrisburg had 3 doubles on the night to give them an E.L. best 59 two-baggers.

HIGHLIGHTS: The PawSox almost let a 4-0 lead slip away, allowing 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning before an out was even recorded. PawSox reliever Garrett Mock struck out three straight batters to stem the tide  … Junichi Tazawa worked a scoreless ninth for his first professional save … Both of Tony Thomas’ home runs were solo shots that came with two outs … PawSox reliever Andrew Miller rebounded from a horrific appearance on Sunday (1/3 IP, 4 ER, 3 BB, 1 H). He worked a perfect eighth inning, striking out Bryce Harper, Mark Teahan and Jhonatan Solano on 15 pitches … Prior to the game the PawSox placed shortstop Pedro Ciriaco on the 7-day disabled list with an oblique strain.  Jonathan Hee was called up from Portland to take his place on the roster.

HIGHLIGHTS: Trailing 5-2 in the top of the ninth and down to their last out, the Rock Cats got a three-run homer from Chris Colabello to send the game to extra innings where they put up a 5 spot in the eleventh for their fifth straight win … Portland first baseman Reynaldo Rodriguez went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI, 2 runs, a stolen base and his first home run of the season … Colabello is 9 for 19 with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 7 runs in his last five games … New Britain pitching allowed only two walks, bringing the staff’s season total to a league low 24 over 109 innings … Sea Dogs DH Jeremy Hazelbaker went 2 for 5, doubling his hit total for the season and picking up his first RBI of the year in the process.

The Fisher Cats scored first in the game for only the fourth time all season … New Hampshire starter Ryan Tepera went five innings, allowing only one run on 4 hits and 4 walks for his first AA victory … Fisher Cats DH Koby Clemens went 2 for 2, stole 2 bases, was caught stealing and was picked off … The New Hampshire bullpen combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings to hold on to the victory. Ronald Uviedo notched his 3rd save of the season. In two prior stints with the Fisher Cats he had a total of 2 saves.

HIGHLIGHTS: In game one RPhils right fielder Leandro Castro sunk the Sea Dogs with a one-out, two-run walk-off homer in the ninth … It was the first loss in a season opener since 2009 for Portland, who then fell to 0-2 for the first time since 2007 after dropping game two … Portland’s Juan Carlos Linares went 4 for 7 with an RBI, two runs scored, and a lead-off home run in game two … Game one starter Chris Balcom-Miller pitched 5 strong innings for the Sea Dogs, allowing only one run on three hits and no walks. He did not factor into the decision … Portland’s offense was hampered by the six double plays they forced on the day.

HIGHLIGHTS: The season opening win by New Britain was their first since 2005 … Starter Luke French pitched five scoreless innings, striking out four batters … Former New Hampshire Fisher Cat Darin Mastroianni went 1 for 3 in the leadoff spot and scored 2 of the teams 3 runs … Rock Cats first baseman Nathan Hanson went 0 for 3 with 3 strikeouts. Center fielder Aaron Hicks went 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts. … Deolis Guerra picked up where he left off after changing roles from starter to reliever last year. In two innings of work he threw twelve pitches, all for strikes, retiring all six batters faced, three by way of strikeout.

HIGHLIGHTS:   Fisher Cats pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts, with starter Drew Hutchison fanning six over five innings … Trenton right fielder Zoilo Amonte picked up the golden sombrero … Seven players in the starting lineup collected at least one hit for the Fisher Cats, but Brian Van Kirk’s double was the only extra base hit … Catcher A.J. Jimenez went 3 for 5 with a RBI and a stolen base, and center fielder Justin Jackson went 2 for 4 with a RBI and a run scored to lead the New Hampshire offense.
